The King Foundation sponsors opportunities for young women to expand their appreciation for the world in which we live.  Participants in the King Scholar and Quest Leadership programs have attended operas at the Kentucky Center for the Arts, plays at Actors Theatre and listened to a wide spectrum of speakers at the Kentucky Authors Forum. In addition, many have also:

  • Attended a Gala Dinner at the Speed Art Museum where they met renowned sculptor, Ed Hamilton. After dinner, Mr. Hamilton was the guest speaker and gave them a personally guided tour of his work;
  • Met and listened to Dr. Robyn Gerber, author of Leadership the Eleanor Roosevelt Way;
  • Attended the presentation of Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel manager who protected 1,200 people during the Rwandan genocide and was later portrayed in the movie, "Hotel Rwanda"; and
  • Attended the presentation of Eleanor Clift, political analyst and author of Founding Sisters and the Nineteenth Amendment.
